Kaluluma UMC, Tanzania

Middletown UMC is blessed to share a global partnership with Kaluluma United Methodist Church in Tanzania. Through prayer, mutual encouragement, and financial support, we walk together in faith as one body of Christ across continents. This partnership helps strengthen local ministries in Kaluluma—supporting worship, education, and community development—while deepening our congregation’s understanding of global mission and discipleship.

Bayshore Lunch Program, Keyport, NJ

We're partnering with the Bayshore Lunch Program to serve our neighbors in need throughout the Bayshore area. Located in Keyport, NJ, this community-based ministry provides warm meals, hospitality, and compassion to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Volunteers from local churches and organizations come together to prepare and serve lunches, offering not only nourishment but also dignity, care, and friendship.

Keyport Food Pantry

At the holidays, Middletown UMC partners with the Keyport Food Pantry by providing 200 cans of a specific item —such as corn or pineapple—for their holiday food baskets. This helps ensure every family receives a balanced holiday meal. In addition, after each Goodness Now Pantry, surplus items that won’t keep until the next distribution are shared with the Keyport Pantry to support their ongoing efforts.

Aslan Youth Ministry Christmas Mission

Each November, a Christmas tree in the Narthex is decorated with ornaments listing wish items for children in Aslan’s after-school programs. Our church family provides about 75 gifts in time for their Christmas celebration.

Center of Goodwill (COG)

In partnership with COG, Middletown UMC provides bundles of essential household items not covered by food stamps—such as paper towels, soap, toothpaste, and toilet paper—typically during the month of May. In December, we also donate gift cards to stores like Target and Kohl’s, enabling parents to purchase Christmas gifts for their families.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, is to share God's love around the world. Each year, our congregation packs shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, along with prayers and messages of hope. These gifts remind children that they are loved, valued, and not forgotten—an expression of Christ’s joy during the Christmas season.

* We collect the boxes this year by November 2, 2025.

CROP Hunger Walk

CROP Hunger Walk, an ecumenical effort organized by Church World Service, is to fight hunger locally and globally. Each year, our church joins other community groups to walk, raise funds, and advocate for those facing food insecurity. A portion of the funds supports local hunger relief programs, while the rest provides sustainable food and clean water solutions around the world.

* This year's walk is Sunday, October 19, 2025.
