The longest journey you will ever make is the journey from the head to the heart! Pastor Jisun narrates the story of the Good Samaritan - what transpired on the steep and dangerous road from Jerusalem to Jericho that drops from an elevation of 2400 feet above sea level to 825 feet below sea level - and the lesson learned from it: Who is my neighbor? Jesus expanded the concept of neighbor far beyond proximity, ethnicity or social boundaries. Our neighbors are not only the people next door, but people across cultures, across nations and across borders who are in need of help. Jesus asks us to be his hands and feet to help his children who are suffering.

The road from Jerusalem to Jericho still runs through our world today. It appears wherever people are wounded by violence, loneliness, injustice and suffering, and as we walk that road we will encounter people who need compassion and mercy. When we see them may we not pass them by, but stop and show mercy. May our faith travel from our head to our heart to our hands and feet, becoming the hands and feet of Christ in this world. May we love our neighbor as ourselves. May we go and do likewise.
