Jesus said "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can move a mountain". The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed that grows into a huge tree. In order for a seed to grow it needs sunlight, water, soil and time. In order for children to grow and achieve their full potential they have to be nurtured and encouraged. God sees potential in every one of us. There are people who invest in us, who nurture us and help us grow.
Pastor Jisun talked about her childhood, growing up with two sisters, and the three of them were nurtured and encouraged by their parents and others around them. Their music director saw their potential and invested time and effort to help them achieve their potential in music. Likewise, many people invested in Pastor Jisun's journey to faith, including her Sunday School teachers, youth group leaders, college friends, pastors, conference leaders and many faithful Christians in local churches who showed her love.
Pastor Jisun encourages us to remember those who invested in us and helped us grow in faith, character and wisdom, people who shaped what we are today. Members of a community need three or more connections to remain and grow in fellowship. We can do it through participation in worship, joining small groups and volunteering for service to the community through missions and ministry. Nurturing relationships takes time - pray long and work hard and let the small seeds grow into big trees.
