Pastor Jisun reflects on the stories of The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin and The Lost Son (Prodigal Son). In the parable of the Lost Sheep the good shepherd leaves 99 sheep behind and searches for the lost sheep in the wilderness. And when the lost sheep is found, the shepherd invites friends and neighbors to celebrate. Jesus says that there is more rejoicing in heaven over the repentance of one sinner than over 99 righteous people.

In the parable of the Lost Coin, a woman who has ten silver coins loses one of them. She lights a lamp, sweeps the house and searches everywhere. And when she finds the lost coin she invites friends and neighbors to celebrate.

In the parable of the Prodigal Son the younger son demands his inheritance and goes away and wastefully spends the wealth on loose living. When it is all gone, he repents and comes back home and is welcomed back by his father who hosts a celebration for his return. The older son is hurt, since he has stayed home and worked hard without getting a celebration of recognition.

When family relationships are fractured we should leave the door open for reconciliation.
